This pedal is worth every penny I paid for it! My 17 year old son broke 2 of the plastic pedals before I found this one, He plays rock band at expert level so he is constantly slamming this pedal to the floor and it has held up GREAT!!! It is crazy how reasonably price it is, and it's not like one of those metal pedals that you slide onto your broken plastic one, this is the whole thing that just plugs into the drum set. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who plays some serious rock band!!! |
| Not such a bad Pedal, but after "upgrade" it has became perfect for my needs | 2010-07-01 | 4 / 5 |

Before purchase this pedal I have read the Customer Reviews, as has been noted here: "the response of the pedal leaves something to be desired. Songs with fast kicks or double-kicks are practically impossible to keep combo going. It seems to work okay on songs that don't have a lot of kick, but even then the pedal seems to drop notes occasionally (maybe a 3% drop note rate)."
Reason of this effect is that pedal has a magnets with a very strong field of scattering. As a results magnetic sensor triggered on the halfway between the upper and lower points of the pedal movement -- instead lower point.
For improving response you should remove one of these 2 magnets - which will reduce strength of magnetic field twice. It's very easy: (look at customer images)
1) Remove the red short metal axis on the back side and release the moving part of pedal.
2) Unscrew two screw on the top side of moving part of pedal, remove plastic panel.
3) You will see the two little disc of magnets--remove one of these (this will require some force).
4) Fill the space from both side of magnet with piece of paper (for fixing magnet)
5) Assemble the pedal - enjoy.
This "upgrade" applies just for RB2 mode -- GHWT used piezo sensor.
Also there is preferably to replace the spring on a stronger (with more tension)
P.S. By the way I use this pedal (besides RB2) with... Korg nanoPAD USB Drum Controller!!! For this purpose I have made drum pedal controller from... USB PC keyboard! but this is a quite another story ...

The original bass pedal that came with my Rock Band 2 set lasted for over a year until the plastic base cracked. So I purchased this pedal at Best Buy thinking it looked like a sturdy replacement.
Wrong. Dead wrong. After playing 4-5 times the plastic base cracked and split apart, making the thing useless.
I'll be buying the official pedal replacement this time around. Thanks for nothing, Nyko. |

| The product was not at all durable like the company NYKO that makes it claims. I was very dissatisfied because I had the original kick petal that came with the drum set for 6 months without breaking and this Metal Pedal broke in less than 1 day of use. I used the same amount of intensity while using the metal pedal as the original pedal (i was not any harder on the medal pedal at all) and the plastic receiver that registers the "kick drum" cracked and now will not work properly. So to any fans of the game i strongly recommend not to buy this sorry excuse for a kick pedal. Universal Metal Pedal |

| This product claimed to link with Guitar Hero world tour and Rock Band 2. It links but it takes alot of work to get it to work correctly. It's almost not worth having it when you have to work with it for so long to get it to activate. It will play good for a while and suddenly just stop linking up with the game. I was very unsatisfied with this product and wish I had never purchased it. |
