| This is a most excellent guide and well worth having. This game is massive and the possibilities for strategy and tactics make the guide worth having just for the brake down of races, jobs, and equipment. I didn't really use it for strategy or tactics during the actual battles since they play differently every time. My one real quarrel is with the errors. There are many errors between the job descriptions, the weapon lists, the bazaar list and the ingredients lists. This creates a situation where you think you have what's needed to build a particular weapon and find that the lists don't agree. For example, the bazaar lists two possibilities of a Jambiya but there is only one and the other is something else altogether and you have to discover what for yourself. That said, even with that confusion, having the guide makes planning your clan growth a lot easier that without it. |

I have mixed feelings on this strategy guide.
It has the usual layout of information on the game, explains the classes and their abilities, and gives general advice on game play. It then lists the story line quests, the side quests, and the extras like the auctions and bazaar.
It has a list of every quest in the game, along with an index so you can find the page you need quickly. Each quest shows the map you play on and nicely points out where any traps are. It will also give a list of the enemies you'll face and the level ranges they can appear at.
What I was highly dissapointed in was how little it says about each quest. The vast majority do not give any advice at all on how to beat the quest, which is kind of the point of a strategy guide.
In addition, their are typos and errors that while not major, can be an annoyance. For example there is a quest where you are asked to give a response (most popular new years resolutions). The answer is random (you have to actually talk to every NPC and tally up the results) but the guide doesn't say this, it tells you to pick a certain answer. It's only right 33% of the time (there are three choices). It really gave me the impression that the author only played through it once and assumed it would always have the same answer...
1 star is bad, 2 is below average, 3 is average, 4 is above average, and 5 is perfect. I would consider this guide to be below average due to it laking strategies for most quests and the number of typos/errors in the information presented. The only advantage this guide has over using free ones avalible on the internet is the color maps showing trap locations. |
